The Technical Engineering College in Najaf Participates in the Iraqi Women’s Day Festival
The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Technical Engineering College in Najaf participated in the Iraqi Women’s Day Festival, which was held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
The participation was outstanding, with the Laser and Optical Electronics Engineering Department and the Health Physics and Radiation Therapy Engineering Department showcasing the students’ innovative projects.
The Laser and Optical Electronics Engineering Department presented graduation projects, including the design and implementation of a drone used for rescue operations with infrared laser technology. The goal of the project was to locate living people under rubble in areas affected by wars or natural disasters. Another project involved a CNC machine used for engraving on surfaces.
The Health Physics and Radiation Therapy Engineering Department showcased remarkable projects, including the design of various centrifuge machines, a heart rhythm and pulse measurement device, a nerve and muscle stimulation device, and a radiation sensor for nuclear reactors.
The exhibition concluded with the recognition of winners, where the Laser and Optical Electronics Engineering Department secured third and fifth places among the participating institutions.
The exhibition featured the participation of 35 companies specializing in technology, engineering, artificial intelligence, medicine, and education, offering job opportunities in various fields across all governorates. Additionally, 11 public and private universities participated in the event.
