The Programming Club Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the Engineering Technical College – Najaf, affiliated with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, participated in the Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Its Applications held at the Islamic University in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf. The college was represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Aliaa Abdul-Hussein Lafta, along with engineers Sara Luwaa Abdul-Ghani and Manal Shakir Kareem, as well as a group of college students.
The conference was organized in cooperation with the Islamic Azad University of Iran – Najafabad Branch. The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul-Zahd, and the Governor of Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, Engineer Youssef Kanawi, along with a distinguished group of academics, researchers, and specialists in artificial intelligence from various universities and both public and private institutions.
Held under the slogan “Artificial Intelligence: A Tool for Achieving Sustainable Development”, the conference explored the latest scientific and research advancements in AI applications across cities, industry, education, healthcare, and sustainable development. The program featured specialized scientific sessions presenting research papers, as well as an exhibition showcasing Iranian companies and several Iraqi universities focused on innovations in the field of AI.
During his visit to the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s booth at the exhibition, the Deputy Minister praised the university’s activities and achievements in artificial intelligence and expressed admiration for the projects on display.
