The scientific journey began in this small and modest place at the time of its establishment, yet significant in its academic essence, in 1998. It started with two departments: Communication Technology Engineering and Automotive Technology Engineering. The academic and teaching staff began their scientific and educational duties, admitting students for the 1998/1999 academic year in the Communication Technology Engineering Department and the 1999/2000 academic year in the Automotive Technology Engineering Department.
From the very first moments, the dedicated faculty members of this college, despite their limited material resources, worked tirelessly to strengthen the academic and practical journey of the institution. Over the days and years, filled with significant achievements and rapid scientific progress, remarkable outcomes began to emerge, from the quality of admitted students to the accomplishments of graduates. The expansion in infrastructure and academic resources has led to the graduation of exceptional and creative students who have proven their abilities in the labor market today.
Looking at this once modest place in the present, we find it has undergone positive changes, including the introduction of several new academic departments that contribute to the scientific mission and public interest:
The academic staff of the college stands out with their expertise and excellence at the national level, and the technical and administrative teams exhibit high levels of responsibility and precision. Consequently, the graduates have played a significant role in transferring their knowledge to various academic institutions, government departments, and the labor market.
Simultaneously, the college has made significant strides in enhancing the scientific standards of middle-level staff by establishing postgraduate studies in the Communication Technology Engineering and Power Mechanics (formerly Automotive) departments. This initiative has become vital in strengthening higher education. Work continues to expand postgraduate studies in other departments, including doctoral studies.
Additionally, the Renewable Energy Research Unit was established, achieving several milestones, including the installation of solar energy systems at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in Najaf, the Technical Engineering College/Najaf, and the University’s Computing Center.
The college also prioritizes improving the academic level of teaching staff by encouraging further education, focusing on robust scientific research, and publishing in globally indexed journals.
Furthermore, the college strives to find alternative funding sources in light of current circumstances to enhance its scientific, educational, and service missions. This is achieved by fostering scientific cooperation and exchanging expertise with government institutions, the private sector, and joint ventures to advance society and serve all its segments.
May GOD grant success.
