The Technical Engineering College in Najaf at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, in cooperation with the Technological Incubators Unit, held a training course titled “Entrepreneurship and Trade with China.”
The seminar, delivered by Mr. Hassan Al-Mujtaba Ali Qasim — an entrepreneur — covered the concept of entrepreneurship as the process of creating a new project or developing an existing one, and taking financial risks to achieve profit. It requires traits such as creativity, perseverance, and problem-solving.
The seminar also highlighted the significance of China in global trade, being the world’s second-largest economy and known as the “world’s factory” due to its massive production capacity and low manufacturing costs. China has an advanced logistics network and large ports that facilitate export and import operations.
Key advantages of trading with China include low production costs, which help achieve higher profit margins, and a wide variety of products ranging from electronics to clothing and industrial goods. Additionally, suppliers are easily accessible through platforms like Alibaba and Made-in-China.
Major challenges entrepreneurs may face include language and cultural barriers, quality and fraud risks, shipping and customs issues, and the need to understand Chinese and international regulations.
