
The Technical Engineering College in Najaf holds a seminar on the civilizational and historical role of the city of Baghdad.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the Al-Najaf Technical Engineering College at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassanein Ghani Hameed Al-Husseini, the Department of Laser and Optical Electronics Engineering, in cooperation with the Educational Guidance Unit and the Media and Government Communication Division at the Al-Najaf Technical Engineering College, organized a scientific seminar titled: “Drugs and Their Negative Effects.”
The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Moayad Mohammed Baqir and Assistant Lecturer Hussein Thaher Ayez, who discussed several key topics, including:
From a guidance perspective, the lecturers highlighted that drug-related crimes are among the most widespread crimes globally, crossing international borders and affecting entire societies. Many countries have exerted significant financial and human efforts to combat drugs but continue to face challenges in eradicating them completely, making drug-related crimes a form of organized crime.
The seminar concluded with key recommendations, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness among all social groups, particularly young people, about the dangers of drug abuse. Additionally, addressing unemployment was stressed as a crucial step in preventing youth from falling into drug addiction. The role of religious teachings was also highlighted, as drug abuse and trafficking contradict religious principles.
In his remarks, Dr. Al-Husseini reaffirmed the significance of this topic, given its severe impact on society.
