A master’s thesis at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University discusses improving unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications using artificial intelligence in an OFDM system.

The Technical Engineering College in Najaf, at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, discussed a master’s thesis titled: “AI-Based OFDM for UAV Communications” by the researcher Taha Ibrahim Ahmed from the Department of Communication Engineering Technologies, under the supervision of Dr. Hossam Nouman Mohammed Al-Ansari.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are used in various fields such as surveillance, delivery, and agriculture. With their increasing use, significant challenges arise concerning the security of their communication networks. The research focuses on employing artificial intelligence techniques to develop a dynamic and random frequency-hopping system aimed at enhancing the security of UAV communications, as traditional frequency-hopping methods can be predictable and targeted by adversaries.

The proposed model was developed and integrated into a simulation environment, where it was tested under various jamming scenarios to evaluate its performance. The researcher concluded that the performance analysis results showed a significant improvement, represented by a rapid decrease in prediction error rate during the first two training phases, indicating the model’s effectiveness and its fast learning response.
