The Al-Najaf Technical Engineering College holds an awareness seminar on the occasion of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week.

Under the patronage of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, the Al-Najaf Technical Engineering College held an awareness seminar on the occasion of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week, which extends from 16 to 18 / 11 / 2025, in cooperation with the Organized Crime Control Department in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf.

The seminar was delivered by the Director of the Organized Crime Control Department in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, Dr. Mohammed Al-Jubouri, who presented an extensive lecture addressing the relationship between drugs and organized crime, their methods of spread, and the scientific and practical ways to reduce their risks within society, in addition to emphasizing the importance of the preventive role of educational institutions.

The seminar was attended by Dr. Ali Taqi Hassan, a member of the ministerial team representing the Department of Research and Development at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Also attending the seminar were the Dean of the Al-Najaf Technical Engineering College, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Asaad Al-Sahlani, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul-Jaleel Mahdi, along with a wide attendance of the college’s students and faculty members, reflecting the strong interest in such important awareness-raising activities.

This event comes as part of the college’s commitment to enhancing community awareness and reinforcing a culture of drug prevention, in support of the state’s efforts to combat this dangerous scourge and reduce its impact on society.
